More and more healthcare providers start using medical billing solutions in an attempt to make their paperwork easier, faster and more accurate. And how could they not, when 75 % of the claims are submitted electronically, and small and big health providers alike confess to the necessity to keep up with technology? The billing provider is responsible for the efficiency of cost calculations, customization, account balances’ availability and financial reports’ accuracy.

Here at Snowden, we use and recommend RPM Billing.

Through RPM you will be able to manage bills electronically and submit claims. They should provide better speed, information transparency, flexibility, security, bill tracking, detailed reports, scheduling resources, printing, scanning, and credit card processing for our patients. Please contact them for assistance with:

Filing claims electronically
Modification and resubmission of previous claims
Charges, payments and adjustments
Issuing patients statements
Issuing financial statistic reports
Data security
Billing services
Processing transactions
Accessible charge balance
Insurance claims

The use of a billing service is thoroughly organized and an accurate and more efficient system than before. RPM Billing eases the administrative burden. This allows our doctors to focus on our patients, the job they were trained to do.

“Providing education is not the core mission of Mary Washington Healthcare,” said Eric Fletcher, senior vice president for marketing and communications. “We’re going to let the schools do what they do well, and we’ll concentrate on what we do well.”

The school was founded in 1997 and is located within Snowden at Fredericksburg, a 40-bed, psychiatric hospital, across the street from Mary Washington Hospital.

Treatment

To successfully treat mental illness, persistence is the key. Different treatments help different people, and individual response to a particular treatment often varies. The one common element in any successful treatment program is a trusting partnership with an experienced behavioral care provider.

Snowden offers a selection of programs to serve our patients’ unique needs. From mild depression issues to the chaos of schizophrenia, our behavioral care professionals will find the appropriate treatment or combination of treatments that works.

Inpatient Service is divided into two separate units of care to better serve our patients’ wide range of needs.

Transition Snowden is for those patients who need highly structured, intensive care and are able to actively participate in their own treatment.

Connect Snowden is for those patients who have more acute psychiatric needs and are not able to safely care for themselves.

Partial Hospitalization Program consists of day treatment sessions for patients with mental health or chemical dependency problems.

Intensive Outpatient Program consists of weekly night sessions for patientswith alcohol or drug-related problems.

Mental Health Issues

Few Americans are untouched by mental illness. According to studies, one in five people – including children, adolescents, adults and senior adults – experience a mental disorder. It is as disabling and serious as cancer or heart disease, yet over half of those with mental illness do not seek treatment. This is unfortunate as there are effective treatments for virtually every mental disorder.

Mental health is fundamental to overall health. In our continued efforts to educate and inform, Snowden offers the following glossary of mental health terms.

Addiction/CD

Addiction/Chemical Dependacy

Substance abuse, whether it’s alcohol or drugs, can trigger addiction. Unfortunately, the typical outcome for most substance abusers is enormous frustration accompanied by a broad spectrum of emotional and/or behavioral problems.

For adults, 18 years and older with minimal withdrawal symptoms, Snowden offers an Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program. During this eight-week session, patients learn about the nature of their problems and discover improved means to cope with frustration, disappointment and anger. After a comprehensive evaluation, a multidisciplinary treatment team develops a customized plan for each patient to help him/her reach healthy, positive goals. Individual counseling, group therapy and family participation are important components in the recovery process.

Snowden’s team of psychiatrists and therapists provides constant guidance throughout treatment and during follow-up. With family support, the patient’s progress should continue long after the program ends.

Snowden at Fredericksburg - Customer Pages

Snowden at Fredericksburg is dedicated to improving the overall quality of health for all members of the community. An important piece of improvement is information. Snowden at Fredericksburg continues to help provide people with general information to help community members understand more about Mental Health.

In today’s high stress world understanding mental health is critical. One way we do this is through providing Third Thursday at Three, an educational opportunity for the community on a variety of topics related to Mental Wellness. In 2004, we will be providing this opportunity every other month. In addition, many of Snowden's Associates are involved in related community organizations such as Federicksburg Mental Health Association, volunteering at Moss Free Clinic, volunteering to speak to students at local schools, and serving on a variety State wide committees, to name a few.

Snowden works hard to ensure our customers understand the facts about mental health, but also how one can utilize their own personal resources in managing their mental health symptoms once they transition from our continuum of care into the community. We do this through traditional group therapy and education, as well as through adjunctive therapy roups to include art therapy, music therapy, and recreation therapy.

Snowden strives to ensure each member of the community is empowered to maintain their mental wellness.

Children and adolescents are especially vulnerable to stress - a common by-product of our fast-paced society. In fact, recent studies indicate that one in five children in the U.S. exhibit emotional and/or behavioral problems.

Snowden offers an entire array of services for children and adolescents - everything from inpatient and outpatient services to a partial hospitalization program. Our behavioral care professionals personalize each child1s treatment and design a program to meet his or her unique needs. In addition, individual counseling, family meetings and group therapy are important elements of the program.

The key, however, is to seek professional help early to identify the emotional or behavioral problem. Snowden1s compassionate staff really understands what children and adolescents are going through and teaches them valuable coping skills. As our young patients and their families learn and heal, we help guide them in their transition back home.

As patients work to improve their mental health, a sense of wellness and balance return to their lives.

Adult Inpatient Service provides treatment to those who need highly structured and intensive care. Patients learn about the nature of their

challenges and find tools to help them recover. There are two levels of care in Inpatient Service depending on the severity of the patient’s needs.

Adult Partial Hospitalization Program provides day treatment for patients with mental health or chemical dependency problems. The program serves those who do not need inpatient services but require more support than is possible in outpatient counseling.Through group therapy, our experienced professionals encourage social interaction, self-esteem and coping skills.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program offers treatment exclusively to those struggling with chemical dependency. The weekly night sessions offer more support than typical outpatient counseling programs. Alcohol or drug-dependent patients are expected to attend Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings throughout treatment to develop a positive support network.
